Be prepared for practice Sept. 3 Write a blanket speech on 3 common themes. Meaning: for each write a 2 minute speech could be go-to sources toward many prompts for each subject. Examples: Fear, poverty, something that has made a massive impact on you, family, the future, hate, love, goals… those are suggestions, I’m sure there are many you can come up with as well. Think about what you could put on paper that you could use over and over again with minor adjustments when given a prompt. By Wednesday you should have 3 - 2 Minute speeches written down or typed out and bring them to class. If you do not have access to a printer and you want to type it, email it to us and we will print it for you.Second, we will begin practicing as we will in the future for competition weeks. Your topics this week will be: Idioms
Famous Movie Quotes
Native American Proverbs
Paradoxes
Familiarize yourself with what these are and some examples before Wednesday. These will be the categories we will use for practice this week. We will discuss your written speeches and work on how they can relate with your prompts. Bring either a notebook or index cards. Once we get closer to competition dates, we will work on index cards.
